This upcoming week I’ll be celebrating my 29th birthday. When I turned 27 and 28 (and probably even a few years prior to that if I’m being totally honest), I was dreading the inevitable coming of this day- the marker indicating that I would be facing down the inevitable 3-0. Now I know, 30 is not old. Yes, I admit, I did feel that way. But I’ve since changed my mindset (a lot of personal talking down from the ledge) and am putting some things into place to ensure that rather than dreading my 30th birthday I am actively looking forward to it. After all, being fortunate enough to have a 30th birthday is not a blessing that should be written off. One of the things I’ll be doing to celebrate my 30th birthday is working to accomplish a “Thirty before Thirty” list.

What I’ve Done So Far
As you can see, some things are crossed off. This list has been in progress for a while, and it has changed. So this is a product of what I felt was most important to me (and mostly realistic) at this point in my life, to accomplish by the time I’m 30. I’ll be sure to share about some of the things that I’ve already done in a future post and why it was something I wanted to include in this particular list.
Also of note, this is not my bucket list, but is in essence an extension of it. I did pull some things from my BIG life bucket list, but others are things that I just thought would be fun to do!
What’s Up Next
Next weekend, I will be climbing Mt. Fuji here in Japan. So right away I have plans to knock another thing off the list. Stay tuned for a follow up on the adventure that will inevitably ensue around that!
Can I really get this done in a year?
I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t. Maybe it’s too ambitious. It’s possible. BUT I am going to work my butt off to cross off as much as I possibly can. For me, it’s not just about trying to do all these awesome things by the time I turn 30 but more about the adventure and journey of doing so. It’s a marker for me to work towards, but these are things I want to do even if my 30th birthday passes and I have some things I wasn’t able to check off. I hope I can get this all done by 30! We’ll see!!
Do you have a “Thirty Before Thirty” type list? I’d love to see what’s on yours! Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Get home safe 😉
