As you may have seen, one of my goals from my “Thirty Before Thirty” list is to take a photo a day for a year. And quite obviously I’m pretty much up against the clock on this one.
This is a challenge I’ve seen a lot of people do and I always thought it was a great idea. I’m a nostalgic person and I love having things to look back. But I can be pretty terrible at remembering to take pictures and only recently have been more disciplined to journal on any sort of regular basis. So this challenge really appealed to me for it’s memory keeping capacity. I also felt it could be a great way for me to remember to take more pictures! I’ve considered doing it for a long time, but for whatever reason I always seem to remember this about 5 days into a New Year. I know it can be started at any time, but I liked the structure of starting it on a New Year so when I’ve missed it I’ve felt like I’d have to wait until next January. Silly, I know.
This year as I was thinking more about this particular challenge, I realized I didn’t have to wait for another year, and that my birthday marked a new year of my life and could be a great marker for starting this challenge. Plus, if I am going to do half as much of the cool stuff as I intend to by the time I turn 30, it’ll be really nice to have that documented in photographs!
So this is my challenge to myself- my biggest fear is not remembering to take pictures more than not having something to take a picture of. I will be cataloging my challenge on my instagram account, though I may not actually post a picture every day I’ll definitely post ones that stick out. Since I’m 3 days into this challenge, here’s what I have so far:
Have you ever completed a challenge like this? Are you in the midst of one now? I’d love to hear your experiences!
Thank you so much for stopping by. Get home safe 😉
